Makeup Application Tag

I found this fun little tag over at Floating in Dreams and simply had to share my two cents on these questions right away. If you are EU based, you need Maaike in your life as she understands the struggles us non-USA based makeup lovers go through in try to chase the new shines. 

Let's dive right in 😎 These are my answers to Makeup Application Tag:

1. Which step takes you the longest to apply?
Eyeshadow, no doubt!  I work in an office environment with pretty loose dress code so I tend to play around with colors on a daily basis which usually means around 5-6 shades per eyelook. Not to mention that this is my favorite step.

2. Which step can you apply the fastest?
Lipstick! Although, choosing the right shade usually takes a lot longer than it should. Usually I have around 3-4 different shades picked out in try to speed up the process in the morning. 

3. What is your most dreaded application step and why?
Applying foundation. It's just a boring step. I generally use BB creams and replace them once empty 🤷‍♀️ Also, I don't do much with my brows. Usually I just use a bit of brown eyeshadow to give them their color back after applying foundation. As they are naturally pretty thin, I don't have a lot of options if I'm not willing to draw them on from scratch 🤣

4. Which step is your favorite to apply and why?
Eyeshadows! See Question 1 🙈 I love playing with colors and applying eyeshadow in the morning, it's my zen moment 🙃

5. Which step are you the most good at?
I guess, eyeshadow, again. I am by no means a pro, but after almost two decades of eyeshadow application, I know my eyes and how to make them pop 😉 My makeup journey started out with gold and blue eyeshadow back in high school 😂

6. Which step can you use some more practice in?
Liquid liner, hands down. I have pretty thin lashes so I do apply a small winged line everytime I do my makeup, but it's almost always uneven and downturned 🤣🙈 Gel liner is a bit better option for me then pen style liquid eyeliners. 

7. In what order do you apply your makeup?
Concealer, BB cream, powder, brows, eyeshadow, (more concealer under eyes, if needed), bronzer, blush, highlighter and at the end - lipstick.

8. Which step can you skip?
I always skip face primers and I could generally skip bronzer 🙈 In fact, I started using bronzers regularly only last year.

9. Which step is an absolute must?
If I'm not wearing full fave of makeup, I tend to only add a bit of lipstick and mascara. If I'm pushing it, I'd add a bit of conceler on my eyes and T-zone and buff a bit of lipstick over my cheeks.

10. Any unique tools you use that nobody else really uses?
I use a lip brush to apply eye primer. I don't like wetting my brushes or using fingers for application of shimmers/mettalics so I put down a bit of eye primer to achieve that little pop of color. Also, I'm a foundation brush girl!
