Empties #13-21: Dead skincare part II

I've been holding on to these empties for far too long, so here are my thoughts all summed up:

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA
This was my second or third bottle, so I don’t think I need to point out the holy grail status of this product in my skincare routine. About almost 2 years ago I started to play around with the idea of implementing acids into my skincare routine and my first love was lactic acid. It’s gentle, yet it helps out in keeping my skin smooth for makeup application and it speeds up healing process after hormonal breakouts. It does not burn my skin, but I tend to avoid using it during the summer months, especially while I’m at the seaside and my skin is already rather sensitive from all the sun and salt.

Dr Dennis Gross C + Collagen Brighten & Firm Vitamin C Serum
This guy burnt a bit when I started using it and my skin was acting up for a while, but after a few weeks everything was going smoothly, and I actually got good 6 months of use of this mini. During this period, I did not use any acids, and my skin was smooth and without breakouts.
I would not repurchase this item as it’s quite expensive, but I would consider trying out vitamin C in a more affordable formulation. Also to mention, this was part of 12 days advent calendar by ASOS 2019 which I got from my friends.

TIA’M No Sebum Cream
This was a gift with purchase a while back, before the whole world turned upside down and I was regularly buying KBeauty from Jolse. Unfortunately, I do not feel like this cream did anything for my skin, but at the same time, I am not particularly oily, therefore I’m not the right person for this cream. What I can say is that I felt like my skin was “mattified” while using it without any tugging on the skin, so I suppose it did what it’s intended. I would not repurchase.

L’Oreal Age Specialist NIGHT 35+
This one is my holy grail! I tend to buy day and night version of L’Oreal Age Specialist cream when it’s on 1+1 sale at local drugstores. At first, as I have combination skin, I thought this cream would be too oily for me, but on the contrary it provides me with just enough moisture and hydration through both day and night. It’s day version is a perfect moisturizer in the morning as a base for my makeup as well as final step of my skincare routine at night when I ten to play around with serums.

Balea Q10 Anti-Falten Tagescreme
This one was a happy accident and turned out to be a great alternative to above mentioned L’Oreal Age Specialist cream. I love trying out Balea skincare because it’s an affordable way to try out all kind of different ingredients and textures. My combination skin has been loving a bit of oil on a daily basis as I’m approaching mid thirties and I decided to give Balea Q10 cream a go and I fell for it. Cream seems kind of thick but it applies and melts into the skin instantly, providing a great base for my foundation. Skin seems plum and nourished throughout the day which is why this little guy is on my repurchase list.  Please note that this formula does not play nicely with watery skincare items and can ball up if you try to apply it over a toner or serum but that is not a problem for me as my morning routine consist only of moisturizer/spf without any "watery" steps.

Holika Holika Pure Essence Mask Sheet Damask Rose
When it comes to sheet masks, rose is one of my favorites. I like the elegant delicate scent of rose and great amazing watery essence to quench my skin’s thirst after dealing with dry air. Thumbs up for this affordable mask, I have a few more in my stash to go through.

Balea Tuchmaske mit Kiwi & Apfelbluten-Durf (racoon face print)
This mask had the cutest print on it which I actually did not notice while purchasing it. Apart from being cute, I loved the fresh apple scent with a dash of kiwi and it’s amazing hydrating liquid-y essence. I would like to repurchase this mask but it seems it was a LE.

Balea Tushmaske Cobacabana
Scent of this mask is meant to dupe Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream, and it does, but it’s kind of unpleasant for the face for some reason. It was meh hydrating mask with milky essence and stiff sheet mask material which I generally don’t mind given the low price tag of Balea sheet masks. Would not repurcahse.

Avon Radiant with Rose sheet mask for all skin types
I got this one while it was on sale and have quite enjoyed it. Essence is watery and clear, perfect for hydration paired with light rose scent. Would repurchase.
