The PROJECT PANNER Tag [created by Sarah Rose]
Yesterday,
I saw this cute project pan related tag created by a YouTuber Sarah
Rose and I simply had to join. If you are into panning, I am
sure you'll find her content interesting if you're not already
subscribed.
Now,
let's dive in:
1.
How long have you been project panning?
I
got into panning in 2017 when I started to notice that my makeup
collection is constantly growing without anything leaving it. During
2017 and 2018 I was mostly focused on tracking progress on my most
used items and figuring out how long does it take me to finish
something up. In 2019, I did a Finish19 in 2019 project and pan
that palette. This year I'm continuing with these projects with a
little twist: Pansemetary
#20in2020 and seasonal #panthatpalette.
2.
What made you decide to start panning? What did you hope to get out
of it?
Seeing
progress on other people's panning projects made me want to do it
myself. Main goal was to track progress and finish older items up
while avoiding declutters.
3.
How do you like to structure your project pans? Short seasonal
projects, year-long rolling projects, or something else?
I
like year-long projects for any items apart eyeshadows. For palettes,
this year I decided to do a seasonal pan that palette meaning that
I'll be working on a single (basic) palette for 3 months before
rolling in a new one. Aim of the project is to hit as many pans as
possible. Last year's pan that palette thought me that anything above
hit pan is a struggle and punishment because eyeshadow application
is my favorite part of the routine.
In
regards to year long projects, I like to pick up a large number of
items at the beginning of the year and steadily work on them.
Usually, I choose a mix of older items and things I can easily finish
up.
4.
What are your favorite ways to track your progress?
Taking
pictures in case of powder products and marking progress on a piece
of paper in case of bullet lipsticks and pencils.
5.
What products have been the EASIEST for you to pan?
I
tend to go through bullet lipsticks pretty fast. I work in an office
environment which allows me to easily re-apply makeup and as my role is not client facing, I tend to go all out with
color products so I tend to get good use out of my collection on a daily basis.
6.
What products have been the HARDEST for you to pan?
Eye
and lip pencils. I tend to forget about them. Not to mention
finishing up an eyeshadow apart a cream shade.
7.
Are there any types of products that you rarely or never put in a
project pan?
Mascaras.
I usually keep only one opened at a time.
8.
Do you pan skincare or body care, or strictly makeup?
I
stick to makeup, but I tend to hold on to skincare empties in case I
feel like writing about them.
9.
What is your #1 advice for a successful project pan?
Have
fun. If you love making lists and tracking things even slow progress
will feel so satisfying and calming. People bullet journal and I keep
track of my makeup inventory and item use up as a stress relief.
Don't
force yourself to use up something you hate, but at the same time
don't easily declutter as part of panning is also learning about the type of products you love/hate, so you won't make the same mistake in the future.
10.
Has panning affected your makeup purchasing habits? If so, how?
Yes
and no. I tend to be cautious with my purchases, but panning also put into
perspective how long it takes to use up a product so I
tend to think twice before purchase, especially if I'm eyeing an item that I'm generally rarely using.
😀
You've come to the end of my rant - I tag you to do the same.
With
love,
atwiglikeme
:)
